# Consent Language Snippets for AI-Enhanced Education Studies

These snippets are starter language only. Adapt to your institution's current consent template and your approved protocol.

## AI-assisted feedback

The study site may provide AI-assisted feedback on learning activities or submitted work products. The AI feedback is intended to support learning and reflection. It is not used to make academic, employment, clinical, or disciplinary decisions.

## Learner artifacts

You may be asked to submit learning artifacts such as design plans, prototypes, screenshots, reflection notes, or portfolio evidence. The consent form should state whether each artifact is required for the instructional program, optional for research, or optional for public showcase.

## Interaction logs

The study may collect interaction logs such as page visits, quiz attempts, progress indicators, search use, annotation events, feature-use events, timestamps, and submission status. These logs help the research team understand how participants use the learning environment.

## AI text retention

If learner-AI interaction text or AI-generated feedback is retained for research, state what text is retained, whether direct identifiers are removed, who can access it, and whether participants can complete the study without providing optional text.

## Optionality

Participation in the research components is voluntary. If some instructional activities are required for a course or program, the consent form should distinguish required learning activities from optional research data use.

## Confidentiality

Research exports will be stored in access-controlled locations. When feasible, direct identifiers will be stored separately from survey responses, interaction logs, artifact metadata, and analysis datasets.
